The bike of a Highlands Middle School student broke and he wasn’t able to replace it. Eighth-grader Tyshawn Brooks, one of his classmates, was determined to help him.
Tyshawn approached the student after he noticed him walking to and from school each day, having seen him on his bike before. The student told him what had happened and was heartbroken that he couldn’t replace it. Tyshawn had been earning money through oddjobs working with his cousin and decided to use some of his earnings to purchase a brand new bike for his classmate.
